The medication benazepril reduces high blood pressure, treating hypertension while guarding against heart attacks and liver issues. It is an ACE inhibitor that works by easing blood veins to facilitate easy blood flow. Adults often start off on 10 mg of benazepril per day. Fluoroquinolone (flor-o-KWIN-o-lone) antibiotic ciprofloxacin is used to treat several bacterial illnesses. People who have been exposed to anthrax or specific types of plague are also treated with it. The use of ciprofloxacin extended-release is only permitted in adults. Fluoroquinolone drugs have potentially irreversible, significant, or debilitating adverse effects.
Only infections that cannot be cured with a less dangerous antibiotic should be treated with ciprofloxacin.
