Salbutamol

You can relax and widen your airways by taking salbutamol (albuterol). It is used to treat symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and dyspnea.

Salbutamol is a quick-acting bronchodilator and analgesic. It is a member of the short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist class of drugs. Your bronchial muscles—the smooth muscles lining the two sizable tubes (bronchi) that convey air from your windpipe (trachea) to your lungs—are stimulated by salbutamol’s action on the beta-2 adrenoceptors.
